Irakli Kobakhidze on international reactions: Instead of dry political statements, let them look into the lawsuit and if they have anything to say legally, let them kindly say it – such statements are a crude interference in the independence of justice

The unconstitutional five is one political party and this political party is called foreign agency, this is called the fifth column; when such a political subject is sued from outside the country, this speaks for itself about the side that is the author of this lawsuit – ALDE, you remember that it practically came out directly as a supporter of a terrorist act in our country when it did not condemn the corresponding action carried out by Aleko Elisashvili, – this is how the Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Kobakhidze, assessed ALDE’s statement on the lawsuit regarding the ban on parties.
According to Kobakhidze, for Georgian society ALDE’s assessment is not difficult, and such statements are directly a crude interference in the independence of justice.
“As for the international reaction in general, we call on everyone for only one thing: instead of such dry political statements, let them look into the lawsuit and if they have anything to say legally, let them kindly say it. Also later, when the decision of the Constitutional Court is already published, whatever content it may have, let them look into the text of the decision and if they have legal claims, let them speak precisely about the legal claims and not make crude political statements. Such statements are directly a crude interference in the independence of justice,” Irakli Kobakhidze noted.
For reference, Aoife Devere, Communications Assistant of the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe (ALDE), writes that the ruling party “Georgian Dream” is trying to ban five opposition parties, among them the party “Lelo” – a member of ALDE (Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe) and part of the coalition “Strong Georgia.” According to her statement, if successful, this step could leave hundreds of thousands of voters in an uncertain political situation.
