Giorgi Gakharia: The scenario of banning opposition parties in Georgia is identical to Moscow’s playbook, where elections are nothing more than an illusion and self-deception.

The Prime Minister of Georgian Dream has openly stated the goal of banning opposition parties: to clear the political field and create a "convenient opposition” of their own choosing. Giorgi Gakharia, leader of the Gakharia for Georgia party, says in a post on social media.

He asserts that this scenario is identical to Moscow’s playbook.

We already see signs of new parties being created in Georgia. These individuals either fail to realize they are just playing their scripted role, or they are knowingly entering into a deal with the pro-Russian regime," Gakharia states.
