Shalva Papuashvili: They removed the “National Movement” from the logo, but they cannot remove it from their hearts – who there is not a “Natsi”? Is Bokeria not a “Natsi,” or Gvaramia or Japaridze?

[The Opposition Alliance] removed the “National Movement” from the logo, but they cannot remove it from their hearts, because this is the collective “National Movement,” – this is how Speaker of Parliament Shalva Papuashvili responded to journalists’ question concerning the removal of the “National Movement” from the logo by the “Opposition Alliance.”

As Papuashvili noted, the leader of every political party belonging to the alliance was at one time in the “National Movement.”

“They removed it from the logo, but they cannot remove it from their hearts, because this is the collective ‘National Movement.’ Logos and symbols have no significance. Who there is not a ‘Natsi’? Is Bokeria not a ‘Natsi,’ or Gvaramia or Japaridze? All of these people were formal leaders of the ‘National Movement,’ not ordinary members; they were leaders, heads, chairmen of the ‘National Movement’ party. They are the ‘National Movement.’ They themselves spoke about a genetic code, and their genetic code is the ‘National Movement.’ The rest of the spectacle that they stage, as if they are different parties, then create an alliance of parties and then this alliance falls apart – this spectacle the Georgian people have seen more than once. I hope the Constitutional Court will put an end to this spectacle, where we are precisely proving that this is the organism of the ‘United National Movement’ with which we are dealing,” Shalva Papuashvili stated.

For reference: the “Opposition Alliance” published a new logo on its Facebook page in which the “National Movement” is no longer included.
