Irakli Kobakhidze on Kakha Kaladze’s remarks regarding animal advocates: "It was meant figuratively. In general, the actions of many individuals raise serious questions; they exhibit a level of activity that is entirely inappropriate”

Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze states that the remarks made by Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze regarding animal rights advocates were intended "figuratively."
Specifically, a journalist asked Kobakhidze about the ethical nature of Kaladze’s comments concerning animal rights activists—comments in which the Mayor suggested that "five or six people should be taken away and put to sleep right now, given the state they are in; they are individuals with an unhealthy psychological condition."
Furthermore, addressing the recent events surrounding stray dogs, the Prime Minister noted that the actions of many individuals "raise serious questions," as they are characterized by "inappropriate activity."
Moreover, the Prime Minister suggested that crude political interests might lie behind these developments. "Of course, all of this was said in a figurative sense; in general, the actions of a great many people regarding this issue raise serious questions—that much I can tell you. They are displaying, so to speak, a completely disproportionate level of activity, and behind this, quite simply, there may lie crude political interests," Kobakhidze noted.
