At the Vaziani military firing-ground, a Georgian-produced multiple rocket launcher has been presented today, the Ministry of Defence says.

Tactical-technical characteristics of the launch vehicle have been demonstrated in presence of the Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili and Defence Minister Bacho Akhalaia.

The multiple rocket launcher system is designed to defeat personnel, armored targets, artillery batteries, command posts and fortifications.

The combat machine is capable to control fire without the preliminary preparation of a position and without the help of crew minimizing the salvo time.

The machine has got an armored cabin capable to protect the crew of five men from ballots and debris.

Technical characteristics of the combat vehicle are the following:

Number of gun layers-40 units; rocket shell caliber-122 mm; gun-layer rising corner-minimal -0 degree, maximal -60 degree; horizontal targeting corner-80 degree to the right from the chassis, 120 degree to the left from the chassis; full salvo time -20 second; firing distance given a missile type-minimal-1000 m, maximal-40 000m; maximal speed of machine movement-80 km/h; operational range-500 km; crew-5 men.

When manufacturing a heavy multiple rocket launcher, its producers used the experience accumulated in the international military industry. The fighting machine was made on the base of Military Scientific-Technical Center “Delta” in subordination to the Ministry of Defence of Georgia.
