De-facto government of Abkhazia quarantines so-called border due to “swine flu” fears

De-facto government of occupied Abkhazia has announced quarantine on so-called border due to the “swine flu” fears.

Alexandre Chikvaidze, representative of the Autonomic epublic of Abkhazia, told InterPressNews that people are restricted to cross Enguri bridge from the occupied territory. According to Alexandre Chikvaidze, only those citizens, who travelled to occupied Abkhazia upon a special invitation, and Enguri HPP employees are allowed to leave the occupied territory.

“The separatists claim that they have announced quarantine due to the “swine flu” fears. The citizens, who have proper documents, can arrive in the occupied territory from Zugdidi, while the movement is prohibited from there. Only those people, who travelled to occupied Abkhazia upon a special invitation, as well as the employees of Enguri HPP are allowed to leave,” Alexandre Chikvaidze said adding that there is a long queue at the guard post and Russian “border guards” are wearing face masks and gloves.
