Georgian wine export increased by 10% in Q1 of 2019

19,4 mil. bottles (0,75l) of wine were exported to 37 countries worldwide in the first quarter of 2019, that is 10% higher compared to the same period of the last year, - according to the National Wine Agency of Georgia.

The income from the wine export amounted to 47 mil. USD, 16% higher compared to the last year.

Georgian wine sales have increased in America, Asia, Europe and traditional markets, including : Poland - 39% (1032400), China - 23% (1372839), and USA -165% (182025); Also on European markets: Lietuva - 21% (134376), Estonia - 18% (142112), France - 41% (34170), Sweden - 313% (9000), Bulgaria - 161% (4500). Also, on traditional and Asian markets: Russia - 15% (13279083), Belorussia -36% (317280), Mongolia - 7% (66012) and etc. The first five of the exporter countries are the following: Russia (13279083), Ukraine (1419222), China (1372839), Poland (1032400), and Kazakhstan (560460).

Different amount of wine was exported by 148 wine companies.

The leader of export id “Kindzmarauli” – 3 677 356 bottles, followed by “Mukuzani” – 1 209 406 bottles, “Tsinandali” – 890 458, “Akhasheni” – 422 220, “Khvanchkara” -226 072 and etc.

In addition, 6 mil. bottles (0,5 liters) of brandy have been exported to 14 countries worldwide, that is 74% higher than the similar data of 2018. Exported brandy income amounted to 12,4 mil USD (growth 71%).

118 bottles of “Chacha” has been exported to 15 countries worldwide, growth amounted to 170%. Exported “Chacha” income amounted to 323 thousand USD (increase – 153%).

Totally, wine, bandy, “Chacha”, brandy alcohol and brandy in pour income amounted to 67,73 mil. USD – growth in comparison with the similar data of the previous year amounted to 4%.
