Voter turnout is the lowest in Mtatsminda district

The Election Administration continues informing media and electoral stakeholders about the ongoing polling process. At the following news briefing, Ana Mikeladze, the CEC Spokesperson shared with media voter turnout as of 15:00pm.

Voter turnout by 15:00 was the highest in Sagarejo and the lowest in the Mtatsminda district.

According to the CEC Spokesperson, a voting process at all election precincts is being conducted in an accessible electoral environment. It should be noted that the voting at eight election precincts in Tkibuli and Tskaltubo is being conducted through electronic technologies and the voters are participating in elections without any obstacles.

Ana Mikeladze briefed the media about the number of complaints submitted at the District Election Commissions (DEC): As of now, 24 complaints are submitted at the DECs, out of which 13 are submitted in Zugdidi, seven in Marneuli, one in Zestaponi and three in Khulo.

“Complaints basically refer to the procedural violations. For instance, the following inaccuracies have been reported:

Media representatives without CEC accreditation were presented at several election precincts of N67 Zugdidi election district. The commission withdrew all of them right after the fact was revealed.

The procedural violation took place while filling the control sheet at N82 election precinct of N67 Zugdidi DEC. Particularly, the control sheet which is self-copy paper was filled one-by-one by the commission members instead of filling one copy and two of them were stamped. Although, according to the legislation, the control sheet should not be stamped. The relevant act has been drawn up and the commission will make a relevant response. It should be underlined, that the voters registered in the mobile ballot box list will be able to freely exercise their will without any obstacles.

According to the provided information from N68 and N49 Marneuli election precincts, two observers were withdrawn from the election precincts since they were hindering the working process of the election commission and tried to process the personal data of the table version of the voters’ list. An observer from the local observer organization “Unity” was withdrawn from N 68 election precinct and one observer from the local observer organization “Union of Unified Youth of Georgia” from N49 election precinct” - announced Ana Mikeladze.

The CEC Spokesperson also made an explanation on the version of the list with photos.

“In addition, we would like to inform you that, since the interpretations are being reported on this issue, according to Article 31 of the election legislation, political parties, initiative groups and observer organizations have the right to request for the voters’ list with photos. During the last period voters’ list with photos are issued for six initiative groups and five political parties” - declared Ana Mikeladze.
