Elene Khoshtaria: The campaign, which we had been watching for several weeks, was very dirty

It is insulting that the government thinks that they can make Mtatsminda voters vote for their candidate through hate speech, lies and force, - said Elene Khoshtaria, a member of European Georgia.

Khoshtaria held a briefing together with a member of Free Democrats, Nino Goguadze, and summarized the pre-election campaign.

"Our worthy candidate, Shalva Shavgulidze achieved very important success in the first round. The campaign, which we had been watching for several weeks, was very dirty. We saw how the city hall and the Georgian Dream removed Shavgulidze’s banners; we saw speculations and pressure”, Khoshtaria said.

She also talked about the ISFED report concerning the discrediting campaign on Facebook ahead of the Mtatsminda election.

"The organization investigated the Facebook campaign and said that the campaign of hatred and lies was orchestrated and planned to discredit Shalva Shavgulidze," Khoshtaria said.
