The Administration of the President of Georgia welcomes the launch of an investigation by the Prosecutor General's Office into the pardoning of several individuals convicted of murder.

The Administration has issued a statement, saying that the move of the Prosecutor's Office is the only correct decision amid serious defamatory statements.

“We welcome the decision of the Prosecutor General's Office to launch an investigation into the pardoning of convicts by the President.

Amid the continuing defamatory statements, examination of the case by the Prosecutor's Office is only correct decision,” reads the statement.
