Zakaria Kutsnashvili to announce whether he will return to the legislative body or not on January 20

Former lawmaker Zakaria Kutsnashvili will make a statement whether he will return to the legislative body or not on Monday.

Zakaria Kutsnashvili's return to the Parliament has been on the agenda since majority leader Otar Chrdileli announced he was stepping down as an MP. The latter is followed on the party list exactly by Zakaria Kutsnashvili.

The former lawmaker does not specify whether he wants to return to the Parliament again. As he told InterPressNews, he has already made a decision, but he will inform the public of it after Otar Chrdileli’s mandate is officially terminated.

Kutsnashvili stepped down as an MP on June 21, 2019, after he organized a session of the Inter-Parliamentary Assembly on Orthodoxy led by Russian MP Sergey Gavrilov. Following the June 20-21 night protest, Kutsnashvili decided to resign as a lawmaker.
