Paata Imnadze: The masks produced in Georgia are very effective against droplet infection

According to Paata Imnadze, Deputy Head of the National Center for Disease Control, the masks produced in Georgia are very effective in protecting against the droplet infection.

As Imnadze noted at the briefing held at the governmental administration, doctors are also advised to use those masks.

“I do not have anything even against how it looks. They are very effective against the droplet infection. They can be used even by doctors unless they are doing intubation with patients”, Imnadze said.

The sale of locally produced masks began in pharmacies on April 8. As InterPressNews was informed by the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, 400,000 masks would be sold at the initial stage.

After the capital, the masks will be supplied to eastern Georgia and the municipalities with the strictest state of emergency. The mask costs 50 tetris.
