We cannot support the expansion of the state of emergency without the plan of economic survival and providing assistance to the people, Davit Bakradze, leader of the European Georgia opposition party, said.

According to Davit Bakradze, the state of emergency implies severe restrictions, which have an extremely negative effect on the economy, and therefore, as the state of emergency continues, it is necessary for "the government to come up with a concrete plan for the future measures it intends to take in the economy."

"Of course, we will support all the necessary measures of medical quarantine aiming to protect the health of citizens. But, the state of emergency implies much more and severe constraints, which have an extremely negative effect on the economy. Therefore, it is necessary for the government to unveil a specific plan for the future measures it intends to take in the economy. Not in abstract form, in the post-crisis period as it has done so far, but how it plans to help unemployed people, socially most vulnerable people and business in April. Such a plan is a necessary part of the state of emergency, we will support medical quarantine measures in any case, but without the plan of economic survival and providing assistance to the people, we will not support expansion of the state of emergency, "said David Bakradze.
