The decision on the need for screening was taken based on recent cases of coronavirus of Gardabani inhabitants, the majority of whom are employed at the market.

As Amiran Gamkrelidze, Director of the National Center for Disease Control, told InterPressNews, certain groups at the market have already been checked while the large-scale screening will be launched from today.

"A lot of Gardabani inhabitants are working at the Lilo market. At this stage, we think that large-scale screening is only needed at the Lilo market because it has the closest connection with Gardabani", - stated Gamkrelidze.
