The U.S. continues to support Georgia's sovereignty and transition to democracy, - wrote the U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee Chairman, Senator Jim Risch on social media.
As the Senator notes in his tweet, Abkhazia and South Osseta remain occupied.
"Twelve years after Russia invaded Georgia’s sovereign territory, Abkhazia and South Ossetia are still occupied. The U.S. continues to support Georgia's sovereignty and transition to democracy, and will never recognize Russia's illegal occupation of Georgia", - wrote Risch.
