According to preliminary estimates, the Georgian economy shrank by 5.3% in August, - said Gogita Todradze, Executive Director of the National Statistics Office.

"According to preliminary estimates, the situation in August compared July has slightly improved to some extent. We are facing a 5.3% decline in the economy. The average real growth for the first 8 months is -5.6%", - Todradze said.

As Todradze noted, the downward trend can be seen in almost all sectors except the mining industry.
