According to the Government Administration, members of the Cabinet of Ministers have heard in detail from market representatives what challenges they face during the pandemic and what kind of additional restrictions may be imposed to slow the spread of the virus.

Minister of Finance Ivane Machavariani stressed the importance of developing measures that, on the one hand, will help curb the spread of the virus and, on the other hand, will cause relatively less damage to the economy. It was noted during the discussion that the main task of the government in imposing additional targeted restrictions is to maintain jobs as much as possible. It was stressed at the meeting that a complete "lockdown" is not planned at this stage.
