Georgia reports 583 new cases of coronavirus

583 new cases of the virus were identified in the last 24 hours, - Berdia Sichinava, Deputy Chief of Operations at the Interagency Coordination Council, said at a briefing at the government administration.

"As part of the intensive testing, 16,605 tests were conducted across the country in the last 24 hours, including 9,917 antigen tests and 6,688 PCR tests. Testing revealed 583 new cases of the virus in the last 24 hours. The total number of confirmed cases since the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic in the country amounts to 260,480. With regards the positive rate, as of February 3, the daily rate is 3.51%, for the last 14 days - 4.41%, and for 7 days - 3.79%.

In the last 24 hours, 671 people have recovered from the virus, and the total number of recoveries has increased to 251,748. Unfortunately, we have 19 new deaths from coronavirus in the last 24 hours. A total of 3,240 people have died from the virus since the pandemic spread.

Out of 583 new cases of infection detected in the country today: 243 cases were reported in Tbilisi, Adjara - 34, Imereti - 98, Kvemo Kartli - 46, Shida Kartli - 31, Guria - 10, Samegrelo - Zemo Svaneti - 58, Kakheti - 48, Mtskheta-Mtianeti - 2, Samtskhe-Javakheti - 9, Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti - 4", - stated Sichinava.
