Vladimir Pozner: I am actually an honorary Kakhetian and I will come to Georgia again - those who love throwing eggs exist in all countries and are not worthy of attention

On his website - pozneronline.ru, Russian journalist Vladimir Pozner recalls the events surrounding his visit to Tbilisi and says that he has no resentment for Georgia and Georgians, is an honorary Kakhetian and will come to Georgia again.

"I would like to thank all those who congratulated me on my birthday. You know, there were a lot of congratulations, very, very unexpectedly, and I simply did not have the strength to answer and say thank you to everyone, so I wanted to do it today.

I would like to also thank everyone who expressed concern for my situation when my friends and I arrived in Tbilisi to celebrate my birthday there. It was a kind of tradition, we already did it twice - and now we came for the third time, well, whatever happened there happened.

I have already said that I will not comment on this event, and did not comment. But since they continue to ask a lot of questions: tell us how and what ... I decided to do it now, for everyone, and make it short and clear.

As I understand it, a desperate political struggle is going on in Georgia, and the opposition used my visit to arrange a kind of - I don't know what to call it - a Sabbath or something. They recalled my statement about Abkhazia three years ago, in order to voice themselves by throwing eggs at our bus - apparently they have enough chicken eggs - to slam the walls of our restaurant, stand and shout under the balconies of our hotel, whistle and so on. And I made a decision to leave - why endanger my friends, at least. We returned to Moscow and celebrated our birthday absolutely wonderfully, we were “on edge”, obviously - this Tbilisi experience helped us a lot, no matter how strange it may seem.

I want to say with all clarity that I have no resentment for Georgia or the Georgians, besides, I am actually an honorary Kakhetian, and, of course, I will come back to Georgia again - this is unconditional.

Well, as for those who love throwing eggs, especially if they are paid for it, there are such people in all countries, and as I already wrote, in fact, they are not worthy of attention.
