If anyone can be considered to be the Tbilisi mayoral candidate from the opposition, of course, it is Nika Melia. This is a politician who really has the power to defeat any candidate of the Georgian Dream, - Zaal Udumashvili, one of the leaders of the United National Movement, told reporters.

As Udumashvili noted, in general, he cannot say anything in advance, but his personal position is that Nika Melia is such a candidate.

"However, this issue is not on the agenda today until we consult with other opposition parties," Udumashvili said.

As for the plans of the National Movement, according to Udumashvili, the party will start working on the important issues that have accumulated.

"Among these are the issues of signing the agreement and entering the parliament, as well as, most importantly, the formation of a completely oppositional strategy on how we will go to the next elections. All this will take time and naturally will not be solved in one day. However, from today we will start talking within the party, while Nika Melia will meet with all opposition leaders in order to finally make a common decision again. I am confident that the opposition will still be able to reach an agreement to come up with a common strategy for this election. Naturally, it is important and many people are interested in the issue of our entry in the Parliament, and this will also be a topic of discussion, both inside and outside the party. There are different opinions in the party about this. We will listen to all the arguments, then we will convene the political board, where we will make the final decision, Udumashvili said.
