"The church will never be tolerant of sin, but we say we do not hate people, so as fathers for our own children, we love other people and point them in the right direction," said Bishop Saba of North America at Poti Cathedral.
He said violence against people in the name of the church is unacceptable.
As he pointed out, the state is obliged to protect each of its citizens and ensure their rights.
"There is another side - violence is carried out against people in the name of Christ and in the name of the Church and this is unacceptable. We need to know one thing, state laws and church laws cannot be the same. The state is obliged to protect each of its citizens and to ensure their rights, which are granted by the Constitution. We must point to the path leading to the heavenly life, we must teach people what is kindness for God and what is not. However, if people do not care, unfortunately, in unity with God, we cannot be violent. We will not justify any sin, be it gambling or something else that we have in our country, but I will always have a loving attitude towards sinful people," said Bishop Saba.
