In accordance with the order of the Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Gharibashvili, in order to fight against the new coronavirus, the Georgian Defense Forces is already involved in the effective implementation of the vaccination process.
According to the Ministry of Defense, in order to implement the above-mentioned decision of the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Defense has already allocated certain resources to support the process of fighting the pandemic. At this stage, the Ministry of Refugees, Labor, Health and Social Affairs has received hundreds of beds from the Ministry of Defense, which are located in two locations - Digomi and Samgori.
In addition, the Ministry of Defense expresses its readiness, if necessary, to manufacture up to a thousand additional beds every month at Delta base and transfer them to the Ministry of Health.
The Ministry of Defense has set up mobile military-medical groups that will be involved in the process as needed. These groups, in coordination with local municipalities, will make the vaccination process accessible to citizens who are unable to access the locations of existing vaccination centers.
