Russian Foreign Ministry: We hope that the Georgian government will draw conclusions from the past and pursue a more balanced policy towards Russia

We remain committed to normalizing Russian-Georgian relations, overcoming differences, restoring and developing bilateral ties - all this in the interests of the peoples of our two countries, but such a process must be bilateral, - the Russian Foreign Ministry representative said when asked by the media about the plan to restore air traffic between Russia and Georgia.

"The ban on Russian airlines taking Russian citizens to Georgia is temporary. We have repeatedly stated the terms of its cancellation. They are well known to the Georgian side.

It is related to the stabilization of situation in Georgia, stopping the Russophobic campaign and ensuring the security of our citizens. Nor can the sanitary and epidemiological situation be ignored.

Russia was forced to adopt the above-mentioned restrictions in response to the well-known provocation of the Georgian radicals. At the same time, we remain committed to the normalization of Russian-Georgian relations, overcoming the existing differences, restoring and developing bilateral ties - all of which are in the interests of the peoples of our two countries, however, such a process must be bilateral. We hope that the Georgian government will draw conclusions from the past and pursue a more balanced policy towards Russia," the agency said.
