Salome Zurabishvili: It is important that the US does not lose focus on Georgia, we know that Ukraine is a priority, but this does not mean that Georgia and Moldova should not be under serious attention

This is a historic moment - the President of the United States has asked Congress to allocate $ 33 billion to help Ukraine, said the President of Georgia, Salome Zurabishvili in Washington.

As she noted, everyone she met in Congress "is in very good spirits and says that Ukraine will win this war because the United States has taken this crucial step."

Salome Zurabishvili also spoke about the Georgia Support Act, which is to be approved by the Senate.

"It further strengthens, encourages and deepens our partnership. I think my message to the congressmen at that moment was very important - at a moment when the United States as a whole stands by Ukraine and we too are in full solidarity with Ukraine. I spoke with Maia Sandu and I know how dire the situation is in Moldova. It is important that the US does not lose focus on Georgia, we know that Ukraine is a priority, but this does not mean that Georgia and Moldova should not be under serious attention.

The talks concerned everything, different scenarios, but I would not use the word impending threat. There are scenarios and therefore it is necessary for us to be vigilant and not because some panic should be sown in the face of these threats. Today, Russia is fully involved in aggression against Ukraine, at the same time, it has started some kind of war of nerves, even with Moldova and even with Georgia, as a result of the actions of "South Ossetia". We must be careful, we need the full attention and support of our partners, we must not start sowing some panic," said Salome Zurabishvili.
