Irakli Kobakhidze cannot shun responsibility if Georgia misses this historic opportunity, Giorgi Gakharia, the leader of the For Georgia party, said about Georgia's candidacy for EU membership.

According to him, the candidate status gives us an opportunity in the bad situation we are in.

"The failure to receive candidate status means that a country abandoned by friends will remain face-to-face with the enemy. Anyone who thinks that he can avoid responsibility with some tricks will not succeed. I am sure that many reasonable Georgians understand well the current processes and understand well what is being decided regarding the near future of the country. Therefore, we must do our best and help each other, regardless of which parties we represent," said Giorgi Gakharia.
