According to Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili, the visit of Czech Foreign Minister Jan Lipavský to Georgia is a clear proof of excellent relations between the two countries and emphasizes the strong support of the Czech Republic for Georgia's accession to the European Union. Darchiashvili stated this at the press conference held after the meeting with his Czech colleague, Jan Lipavský, and noted that the Czech Republic is a faithful ally and supporter of Georgia.

"The fact that the visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Jan Lipavský, is taking place during the period of the Czech EU Presidency carries a special importance, which, on the one hand, is a clear proof of our excellent relations, and on the other hand, emphasizes the strong support of the Czech Republic for Georgia's accession to the European Union. In this difficult and challenging time, the support of the closest partners is of particular importance. We appreciate that the Czech Republic is our faithful ally and supporter," said the Minister of Foreign Affairs.

According to Ilia Darchiashvili, the ministers of foreign affairs of the two countries discussed the existing close cooperation between the Czech Republic and Georgia in both bilateral and multilateral formats.

According to him, the importance of actively continuing the high-level political dialogue was emphasized, as well as the prospects of deepening cooperation in the areas of trade, economy, tourism and education.

According to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, the recognition of the European perspective opened the door to Georgia's accession to the European Union and took Georgia-EU relations to a completely new stage.

"The message of European partners and friends that Georgia's future lies in the European Union is a strong motivation to successfully go through every stage of this road," said Ilia Darchiashvili.

According to the Minister, the strategic role of Georgia as a transport and logistics regional center was emphasized at the meeting, and the discussion focused on the importance of Georgia in the process of strengthening European energy security.

According to him, the parties also discussed the deepening of Georgia-EU cooperation in the field of security, which is emphasized in the European Union Strategic Compass document. According to the Minister, Georgia remains one of the main allies of the European Union in the region. According to him, significant high-level visits from Brussels are planned by the end of the year, which will be a good opportunity to discuss issues of common interest and challenges in the region.

As the Minister noted, with the support of the Czech Republic, the projects implemented in Georgia play an important role in the socio-economic transformation of Georgia and the implementation of reforms on the path of integration into the European Union.

According to Darchiashvili, during the conversation with his colleague, the Georgian side pointed out the security, humanitarian and human rights situation in the occupied regions. The Minister emphasized the support of the Czech Republic for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Georgia and the important contribution that the Czech Republic makes to the work of the EU monitoring mission.

Ilia Darchiashvili also noted that the Czech Republic is an outstanding supporter of Georgia in the process of NATO integration.
