Giorgi Arevadze, the judge in the case of the third president of Georgia, Mikheil Saakashvili, read out a letter sent from the Vivamed clinic at the trial, where it is explained that the doctor does not consider it advisable to transport Mikheil Saakashvili.
"In the request, I stated that they should present the convicted person, if they could not present him, then he should be involved remotely. We have just received a written response in this regard. In the letter of Nika Abramishvili (representative of the Special Penitentiary Service), we read that as of today, the Penitentiary Service lacks the ability to ensure the remote involvement of the convicted Mikheil Saakashvili. Also, we received a letter from Vivamed, which states that the doctor does not consider it advisable to transport Mikheil Saakashvili at the trial scheduled for December 14, 2022, based on his health condition," said Judge Giorgi Arevadze.
For information, the Penitentiary Service refused to remotely involve Mikheil Saakashvili in the trial.
