Chairman of the National Movement Nika Melia has responded to the attack on party member Giorgi Kirtadze in Batumi.
As Melia explains, the incident is a provocation, since Kirtadze enjoys great support in society and there is no aggression towards him.
"Another provocation in Batumi. It is completely disgusting and incredible what we saw when Giorgi Kirtadze was talking to journalists. Giorgi Kirtadze is a new type of Georgian politician who defeated Georgian Dream in the last elections in Batumi. Giorgi enjoys a lot of support and there is no aggression towards him in the society, objectively no one would have any aggression against him.
They dare to attack such a person in the center of the city and throw eggs at him, while Rati Bregadze stands calmly and reads the chronicle of his announced death from the high tribune of the Parliament. This is the most dangerous and this is what needs to be ended immediately!" Melia said.

As he told InterPressNews, an unknown man approached him while talking to journalists and threw eggs at him. Giorgi Kirtadze says that the State Security Service is behind the mentioned person.
