Chairman of the United National Movement, Nika Melia, responds to the appeal of the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, in which Zelensky calls on the government to make a decision on the transfer of Mikheil Saakashvili abroad.

As the chairman of the United National Movement states, now the Georgian people must get an answer, whether the government will "fulfill Zelensky's appeal or the Kremlin's directive."
"The hero of the fighting Ukraine, President and Supreme Commander-in-Chief Volodymyr Zelenskiy, in his address specifically called on the Georgian authorities to transfer Mikheil Saakashvili to Ukraine, the United States of America, or Europe. Ukraine and its President, even in the conditions of this civilizational war, consider the issue of Mikheil Saakashvili's health and life saving as the most important part of the great historical process that is taking place in the modern world. President Volodymyr Zelensky declares - "What is happening to Saakashvili now is evil, it harms Georgia, it must be stopped!".
The government of Georgian Dream should make a decision in the near future. A decision that will "protect the life of Mikheil Saakashvili", a decision that will stop this evil, a decision that will help Georgia! President Zelensky also appeals to the friends of his people, the Georgian people, to all thoughtful and forward-thinking people in Georgia - to save the life of Mikheil Saakashvili. If we want Europe, the choice is simple; If we want the freedom of the country, the choice is simple; If we want to be on the right side of history - the only choice is to save the life of Mikheil Saakashvili. However, the choice is not only of the Georgian government, but also of the Georgian people, the correct and principled civil position of each person will soon be decisive! Mikheil Saakashvili remains the most important figure in the struggle against the Russian Empire, he is a living symbol of this struggle, his destruction and death are unacceptable. Mikheil Saakashvili's life was intertwined with the state adventure of Georgia. Its free, dignified and European future is at risk just as it is in the case of Mikheil Saakashvili personally. This was reminded and confirmed by the address of the President of Ukraine. The government of Georgia should immediately make a decision - the appeal of President Zelensky, who is fighting against the common enemy for freedom, is more important to them or the directive coming from the Kremlin, this center of evil. Now it will be determined only by the decision about Mikheil Saakashvili - whether it will be kind, humanitarian, reasonable and prudent, or there will be a death sentence. Zelensky's appeal or Kremlin's directive?! Here, we - Georgians - have to get an answer to this. President Zelensky, as well as the heroic Ukrainian people, the entire civilized world, and the democratic institutions of the West are waiting for this answer. I will repeat the words of the President of Ukraine: this evil must be stopped! The Georgian Dream government must make a decision very soon, the stakes are high.
Finally, I would like to express my gratitude to President Zelensky: on behalf of the United National Movement and all Georgian patriots, I thank you deeply for your outstanding wisdom and your efforts to save Mikheil Saakashvili's life. The entire Georgian people admire you and wholeheartedly support Ukraine and your fight against the Russian Empire. Yes, Georgian people are your friends. Your struggle is our struggle at the same time. Freedom and truth will prevail. Glory to Georgia! Glory to Ukraine! Glory to freedom!" says Melia.
