Iago Khvichia: "Pardon me, you, the slave of Putin”, does not work - If I am Putin's slave, how can I pardon you?!

"Pardon me, you, the slave of Putin”, does not work. If I am Putin's slave, how can I pardon you?! - Girchi MP Iago Khvichia responded to the calls to the President to pardon Mikheil Saakashvili.

Khvichia responded to the call of the former president of Georgia, Giorgi Margvelashvili on this issue and noted that he could take steps in this direction when he was president himself.

"For 10 years, the war between the National Movement and Georgian Dream has been raging in the country, and within the framework of this war, one side has captured the other, imprisoned them, and demands surrender or recognition of defeat. We don't end the war, and we call the one, who is able to release, Putin's slave, etc. "Pardon me, you, the slave of Putin” does not work. If I am Putin's slave, how can I pardon you?!” Khvichia said.

He also responded to the article by American diplomat Michael McFaul about Mikheil Saakashvili, where McFaul notes that US President Biden, in close coordination with other European democratic leaders, should urgently appeal to the Georgian authorities to save Saakashvili.

"If Saakashvili has the resources to make Joe Biden call anyone in Georgia, in my opinion, it would be a crime to do it in order to get you out of prison. If you have that much resources, you should ask Joe Biden for something different. If you do that, people will let you out of jail themselves. I would do it, first of all, for the security of the country," Khvichia said.
