When self-harm is carried out for the purpose of release, the state cannot follow it and even more so cannot take responsibility for it - it is a disaster and shocking that family members bring low-calorie food to Saakashvili, the chairman of the Georgian Dream party Irakli Kobakhidze said regarding Mikheil Saakashvili.

As he stated, Mikheil Saakashvili was in the declared self-harm mode during the hunger strike, and now he switched to de-facto selective feeding and undeclared self-harm.

"This is a trivial truth, I can't say anything beyond that, of course, the state has the responsibility to take care of the prisoner, his health, but when self-harm is carried out for the purpose of release, the state cannot follow it, and even more so, it cannot take responsibility for it. First there was hunger strike, that is, it was declared self-harm, then someone advised him to change his tactics, and instead of declared self-harm, he switched to already undeclared self-harm, de facto selective feeding. Then he declared a hunger strike and was on selective feeding, now he no longer declared a hunger strike and is still on selective feeding. It is a disaster and shocking that family members bring low-calorie food to Saakashvili," said Kobakhidze.
