The part of the parliamentary opposition is summoning the Minister of Internal Affairs, Vakhtang Gomelauri, to the Parliament through the interpellation procedure.

Independent MP Khatia Dekanoidze, joined by 9 opposition MPs, announced the above.

According to Dekanoidze, they have questions with the Minister regarding whether any law enforcement officer was punished for violence against people during the March 7-8 protests.

"Citizens were injured as a result of the use of disproportionate force on March 7-8. Many people were arrested, and many were physically injured, including Zurab Japaridze. Special equipment was used, which did not make sense and was therefore disproportionate. One person lost his sight. We have no information about the punishment of any policeman, we have not seen any statement by any agency in this regard. Therefore, because we need answers to all questions, according to the Rules of Procedure of the Parliament, we will summon the Minister of Internal Affairs through the interpellation procedure. He should come and answer specific questions", said Khatia Dekanoidze.

The question asked to the Minister in the manner of interpellation is signed by MPs: Khatia Dekanoidze, Roman Gotsiridze, Teona Akubardia, Ana Natsvlishvili, Rostom Chkheidze, Nato Chkheidze, Khatuna Samnidze, Tamar Kordzaia.

Michał Kobosko - we hope that your government eventually would either choose the European way, the democratic way or would resign seeing the number, the size and scale of the citizens' protests
