Civil Aviation Agency: Azimuth Airlines is not on the list sanctioned by the Office of Foreign Assets Control of the US Department of the Treasury

According to the Georgian Civil Aviation Agency, Azimuth Airlines is not on the list sanctioned by the Office of Foreign Assets Control of the US Department of the Treasury.

The agency notes that the information spread on social networks is misinterpreted.

"We would like to respond to the information misinterpreted by one of the opposition MPs on social networks about Azimuth Airlines.

Azimuth Airlines is not on the Specially Designated Nationals and Blocked Persons list (SDN List) or all other sanctions lists administered by OFAC of the United States Department of the Treasury, and any interested person can verify this on an official source.

The Azimuth Airlines company is recorded in the Air Operator Certificate (AOC) as Joint-Stock Company AZIMUTH AIRLINES, while the company found by the opposition MP in the sanctioned list is AZIMUT LLC, which is a company providing air navigation and information systems”, - reads the statement.

Azimuth Airlines is starting to operate flights between Georgia and the Russian Federation. The Civil Aviation Agency of Georgia issued the necessary permission to the airline on May 15. Flights on the Moscow-Tbilisi-Moscow air line will be operated seven times a week from May 17 of this year.
