Elene Khoshtaria: The Russian plane will not be able to land comfortably here - on May 19 we will protest this treacherous decision

What Georgian Dream is doing with airplanes and direct flights is another betrayal of our national interests. This is even worse than creating a threat to the candidate status, - Droa party leader Elene Khoshtaria said.

According to her, the citizens of Georgia should show Russia, Ukraine and the whole world where they stand, and for that, according to Khoshtaria, a rally will be held on May 19.

As the leader of Dro­a mentioned, the participants of the rally will gather at the Republic Square and march in convoys to the Tbilisi International Airport, where they will protest the landing of Azimuth plane in Georgia.

"This is a betrayal of national interests and a blow to our sovereignty - the Azimuth airline cannot fly to any European country, it cannot board at any European airport, it is banned, because this company makes the planes, the bombers that bombed our country, that is bombing Ukraine today, killing people, and the whole civilized world is saying that "you are not allowed to fly." Here, the Government of Georgia behind our backs, betraying our interests, told this airline to "come and fly".

We saw yesterday that on the website of this airline, Abkhazia and "South Ossetia" were written as separate states and it is indicated that Abkhazians and Ossetians with Russian passports can fly with this plane, that is, it directly violates our constitution, the law on occupation. What did the Government do, apart from giving permission?! It immediately contacted Russia and within 2 hours they removed the above from the site. Can you imagine how this Government acts in sync with Russia? This is another betrayal, which puts us in front of another task, obligation, responsibility. We have passed this test many times, we passed it on February 24, when we stood by Ukraine, we passed it in June, when we defended the European choice, and we must defend our dignity and sovereignty today," Khoshtaria said.

In addition, according to her, Dro­a will join all self-organized rallies.

"We will join all the self-organized rallies planned today behind the Parliament, near the chancellery, we will be absolutely everywhere. At the same time, we believe that it is necessary for Georgia to show Russia, Ukraine and the world its face on the first day of the flight, therefore this plane will not be able to land here comfortably, it will not be able to land peacefully. We must stand up during the first flight and show where the Georgian society is. Therefore, on the 19th of May, when the first flight is scheduled, we will gather at Republic Square at 12:00 and march in a convoy to protest this treacherous decision. We have nothing against the passengers, but we will show Russia and the whole world that this plane is not applauded by Georgia, except for the Georgian Dre­am”, - said Elene Khoshtaria.
