It is very important that at this meeting, NATO's unwavering support for the Euro-Atlantic aspirations of the Georgian people was once again confirmed and emphasized, - one of the leaders of Lelo, Ana Natsvlishvili, said after the meeting with the NATO Secretary General’s Special Representative for the Caucasus and Central Asia, Javier Colomina.
According to her, NATO once again expressed its support for Georgian society's unwavering will to integrate into the European and Euro-Atlantic space.
"They consider it very important that the society sees Georgia's place in the European and Euro-Atlantic space. Despite the disinformation campaign, the propaganda message based on lies, the target of which is the Georgian society today, the Georgian people are firm on their decision regarding the country's foreign course, and NATO once again expressed its support for this unshakable will of the Georgian people," Natsvilishvili said.
According to her, at the meeting, the partners shared their concerns about the decision made by Russia to restore direct flights and the reaction of the Georgian authorities to "these actions of the occupying state".
"It is disturbing for us when, behind the backs of the Georgian people, behind the backs of the Parliament, the negotiations that preceded the start of bilateral flights took place in secret, and we believe that it poses a serious threat to the country, to every citizen of Georgia, and it is an attempt to change the foreign course approved by the will of the people and recorded in the constitution.
We expressed our unwavering support and belief that the attitude and aspirations of the Georgian people towards the Euro-Atlantic structures will be realized," Natsvlishvili said.
