Ministry: The rate of export of agro-food products has increased - there is a special increase in alcoholic beverages, wine, non-alcoholic carbonated beverages, blueberries and canned fruits

According to the data of the 7 months of 2023, the export value of agro-food products from Georgia amounted to 787.5 million US dollars, which is 27.7% higher than the figure of the same period of the previous year. The Ministry of Environment Protection and Agriculture disseminates information about this.

According to the agency, agro-food products worth 89.0 million US dollars were exported from Georgia to the European Union, which is 2.2% more than the figure of the same period in 2022.

"The export of beverages, livestock and other products has also increased. A special increase is recorded in cases of alcoholic beverages, wine, non-alcoholic carbonated beverages, blueberries and canned fruits. The data for 7 months of 2023 (January-July) looks like this:

Wine export value - 150.5 million US dollars (24.3% increase);

The value of export of alcoholic beverages - 98.8 million US dollars (46.1% increase);

Export value of mineral and fresh waters - 77.1 million USD (38.2% increase);

Export value of non-alcoholic carbonated drinks - 67.1 million USD (62.5% increase);

Blueberry export value - 18.2 million US dollars (118% increase);

Cattle export value - 36.0 million US dollars (65% increase);

Sheep export value - 15.3 million US dollars (66% increase);

The value of fish oil export - 15.2 million US dollars (35% increase);

Export value of fruit and vegetable juices - 9.7 million US dollars (38% increase);

Laurel export value - 9.0 million US dollars (21% increase);

Snail export value - 368.3 thousand US dollars (49% increase);

It should be noted that as of the 7 months of 2023, honey was exported (export value of 390 thousand US dollars) to 12 countries, and the main export market was the EU member states (Czech Republic, France, Germany). According to the data of the 7 months of 2023, agro-food products were exported from Georgia to the USA, EU member states, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Ukraine, China, Russia and other countries," the information reads.
