I wished Levan [Khabeishvili] to rule the party with dignity and truth. I am not surprised, it is possible that the party leadership is dissatisfied with Khabeishvili's work and they may try to change something, I hope Levan will show dignity and will not let Kezerashvili-Merabishvili use him, former chairman of the National Movement Nika Melia said in response to a question relating to the visit of members of the National Movement to Cyprus and the unconfirmed information about the replacement of Levan Khabeishvili with Nika Gvaramia as the chairman of the party.
As Melia mentioned, his attitude towards Davit Kezerashvili and Vano Merabishvili is already known, and he believes that it is possible to defeat Bidzina Ivanishvili, although not with money or desire to earn money, but with sincerity and moral superiority.
"It is very important for me to reflect people's interest in politics, politics should be defined by the people, not behind the scenes. Why certain persons went to certain countries and held meetings, you should probably ask them after they arrive. My attitude to Kezerashvili and Merabishvili is known. I believe that the defeat of Bidzina Ivanishvili's regime is possible only with moral superiority, moral clarity, and a large contrasting difference. I do not believe in the opening of battle fronts by people who are mainly concerned with making money. Money cannot defeat Bidzina Ivanishvili, nor the interest of earning money can defeat him. We can only win with honesty, moral superiority and by reflecting people's interest in politics," said Melia.
In response to the comment of journalists, who noted that they did not expect to see Nika Melia at the party's event dedicated to the opening of Mikheil Saakashvili's public reception center, Melia noted that he has a human and political obligation to be where Saakashvili's so-called office opens.
"It is very important for me to ensure that we have no more political prisoners in the country. The era of political prisoners can be ended with the end of the oligarchic regime. I believe that Mikheil Saakashvili, as a political prisoner, will be released only when the oligarchic regime is replaced by a democratic structure and forces. I am in solidarity with political prisoners, I am in solidarity with the captivity of Mikheil Saakashvili," said Melia.
