Mikheil Saakashvili was the first to raise the flag of the European Union and the European Union was also created by him in his illusory sense, - Georgian Dream MP Mikheil Sarjveladze told the media.
Sarjveladze is sure that under Saakashvili's government, Georgia would never have received candidate status for joining the European Union.
"Such loud statements by Saakashvili should be understood as a joke, and if he is not joking, we should respond with a joke. Everyone knows well, including what specific people did in the European direction in Georgia. If he thinks that the bogus reforms and many failures of the country, which happened at that time, can be considered a successful move towards Europe, this is only Saakashvili's problem. People in Georgia understand very well that with the prisons that Saakashvili had, with the repressive machine of the state administration, we would never enter the European Union. Given the state of human rights in Georgia before October 1, 2012, it would have been impossible to get candidate status. Moreover, we would have neither had visa liberalization or the association agreement", said Sarjveladze.
