According to "Geostat" data, in the first quarter of 2024, the level of unemployment in Georgia decreased by 4.0 percentage points compared to the corresponding period of the previous year and amounted to 14.0 percent.

"In the first quarter of 2024, compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, the number of hired persons increased by 89.4 thousand (10.4%) and reached 952.9 thousand, while the number of self-employed persons increased by 40.5 thousand (9.9%) and amounted to 448.2 thousand.
In the same period, the number of unemployed decreased by 50.6 thousand (18.1%) and amounted to 228.6 thousand. In the first quarter of 2024, the labor force participation rate (the share of the labor force in the population aged 15 and older) increased by 3.1 percentage points compared to the corresponding period of the previous year and was set at 55.0 percent, while the employment rate increased by 4.7 percentage points and amounted to 47.3 percent. The level of labor force participation in city-type settlements has increased by 2.8 percentage points, in rural-type settlements - by 3.4
by a percentage point, and the level of employment in urban-type settlements increased by 5.2 percentage points, in rural-type settlements - by 3.9 percentage points, and it is 48.8 percent and 45.2 percent, respectively.
