Nikoloz Samkharadze: Shalva Papuashvili is in Imereti, I met the representatives of the Bundestag on behalf of the majority - the opposition even caught such a dirty lie, which was exposed in 15 minutes

We talked about a lot of issues, we had an open and open discussion, among them we talked about the rather serious statements made by the chairman of the Bundestag committee during his visit to Georgia, said Nikoloz Samkharadze, the chairman of the foreign relations committee, after meeting with the speakers of the factions of the German Bundestag foreign relations committee.

According to him, the discussion at the meeting was also about the pre-election environment, the "Transparency of Foreign Influence" law, the relations between Georgia and the European Union, and the role of Georgia in the policy of avoiding sanctions imposed on Russia.

In addition, Samkharadze responded to the statement of the opposition MPs that the Speaker of the Parliament and no one from the executive branch met with the representatives of the Bundestag and stated that this is a lie and the said meeting was scheduled 2 weeks ago.

"I want to respond to the dirty lie spread by the oppositionists that it turns out that I did not meet the Bundestag delegation. This meeting was scheduled 2 weeks ago, so if anyone. He wondered if everyone could see well that this meeting was scheduled and I was meeting. This once again shows their face well - they are the go-getters for everything, they even caught such a dirty lie that it was exposed in 15 minutes. During the meeting, they said that Nikoloz Samkharadze did not meet the delegation.

As for the meeting, we discussed various issues at the meeting. We discussed the pre-election environment, the issue of the "Transparency of Foreign Influence" law, relations between Georgia and the European Union, Georgia's role in the policy of avoiding sanctions imposed on Russia. Among them, we talked about the rather harsh statements made by the Chairman of the Bundestag Committee during his visit to Georgia. I have informed my German colleagues about this. Therefore, we talked about a lot of issues, we had an open and open discussion", explained Nikoloz Samkharadze.

When asked why the Speaker of the Parliament, Shalva Papuashvili, did not meet the representatives of the Bundestag, Samkharadze answered that he is in the region and that was the reason.

"As for Shalva Papuashvili, he is not in Tbilisi today. He has gone to the region. Accordingly, on behalf of the parliamentary majority, as well as the foreign committee and the German-Georgian parliamentary friendship group, I met with the representatives of the Bundestag. I cannot tell you the whereabouts of Irakli Kobakhidze, but I know that Shalva Papuashvili is in Imereti," said Samkharadze.

According to Samkharadze, during the pre-election period, it is more important for the chairman of the parliament to meet his voters and the population than anyone else.

"Citizens of Georgia and meeting with them is always a priority. So it should be for any politician. The fact that meeting with the citizens of Georgia is a priority for us, that's why we have such great support and that's why we will win the elections again", said Samkharadze.

For information, the speakers of the factions of the Foreign Relations Committee of the German Bundestag are visiting Georgia. According to the opposition MPs, the speaker of the parliament and the leaders of the executive power refused to meet with the guests.
