Protesters blocked Rustaveli Avenue

Citizens protesting the government's decision gather near the parliament building. At the moment, the participants of the rally have blocked Rustaveli Avenue.

Some of the participants of the protest are shouting on the iron dams erected at the front entrance of the legislative body as a sign of protest.

A banner with the inscription: "They were chosen by the oligarch, not the people" was brought to the gathering.

According to available information, the President of Georgia, Salome Zurabishvili, will join today's rally and she will address the citizens.

Law enforcement officers are mobilized on Tsra Aprili Street.

We remind you that on November 28, protests began in Tbilisi after Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze announced the decision of the ruling team that Georgia will not put the issue of opening negotiations with the European Union on the agenda until the end of 2028. The participants of the rally gathered in two locations in Tbilisi - on Gorgasli Street, near the office of "Georgian Dream" and on Rustaveli Avenue, near the parliament building. Later, the rally converged in front of the Parliament, where the situation between the law enforcement officers and the participants of the rally became tense many times. Around 2:00 am, after warning the demonstrators, the police started to break up the rally on Rustaveli Avenue. The special forces used water cannons and special means against the protesters many times.
