Spain fully supports the decisions taken by the Foreign Affairs Council of the European Union yesterday, reads the statement issued by the Spanish Foreign Ministry.

The Spanish Ministry responds to the statement of the Prime Minister, Irakli Kobakhidze, in which he thanked 5 countries - Hungary, Slovakia, Italy, Spain and Romania.

The Spanish Foreign Ministry states that disinformation is a threat to democracies, which it will always oppose.

"Spain has been very clear expressing its grave concern about civil rights in Georgia and about alleged disinformation campaigns. We have fully supported the decisions adopted yesterday by the FAC. Disinformation is a threat to our democracies that we will always oppose," the Spanish Foreign Ministry said in the statement.

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, at a press conference held at the government administration, thanked 5 countries - Hungary, Slovakia, Italy, Spain and Romania, which "expressed a position in support of the Georgian people at the Council of the European Union". According to him, the Georgian government has specific information on 5 countries, although "we must think that the list of countries that opposed the sanctions is even wider".
