Doctor on Mzia Amaglobeli: Critical vital changes have not begun, but this condition has a limit, the limit is different for every person – she must stay at the clinic

There is considerable weakness, but critical vital changes have not begun. She speaks normally, a little slowly, and thinks well in every way. She can move, although slowly. Organ failure has not begun, - gastroenterologist Giorgi Gvilia said after the founder of Batumelebi and Netgazeti Mzia Amaglobeli was visited by a group of doctors created by the Public Defender at the Vivamedi clinic.

According to Giorgi Gvilia, adequate treatment is being provided at the clinic, but even under adequate treatment, after some time "changes develop, after which even very high-level intervention will no longer be able to save the patient."

"The situation is not easy. I reviewed the documentation and she was even in more difficult situation before being taken to the hospital. After being taken to the clinic, all necessary measures and all necessary examinations are really being carried out. We have studied history very carefully and practically everything is being done to ensure that starvation does not soon lead to serious consequences. Nowadays, the very serious condition that could have occurred after so many days of starvation has not yet happened, but this is probably thanks to my colleagues, who provide timely, adequate and good treatment. Still, it must be said that this condition has a limit, the limit is different for every person,” said gastroenterologist Giorgi Gvilia.

For information, Public Defender of Georgia Levan Ioseliani has formed a group of doctors relating to the health of the hunger-striking journalist Mzia Amaglobeli. The group will prepare a conclusion and recommendations, which will be submitted to the Public Defender.

Mzia Amaglobeli has been on a hunger strike for the 27th day. She was transferred to the Vivamedi clinic three days ago.
