Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze met with the newly appointed Ambassador to the United Kingdom, Ilia Darchiashvili.

According to the Georgian government administration, the meeting held at the government administration touched upon the existing relations between Georgia and the United Kingdom. The Prime Minister congratulated the diplomat on his appointment as ambassador and wished him success in his future activities.

“Ilia Darchiashvili held the position of Minister of Foreign Affairs at various times. He was the Head of the Administration of the Government of Georgia. He held the position of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia. He was the First Deputy Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia, as well as the Executive Director of the Municipal Development Fund of Georgia,” reads the information.
