Today’s personnel carousel (personnel reshuffle) is yet another confirmation of the legitimacy crisis of Bidzina Ivanishvili’s regime, the “Opposition Alliance” said in a statement.
According to the statement, the circle of people whom Ivanishvili trusts to rely on for maintaining power is rapidly shrinking.
“In order to carry out its harmful intentions, the regime vitally needs stability within its own ranks; however, this stability has become an impossible task: the circle of people Ivanishvili trusts to sustain his power is narrowing rapidly.
It is the continuous and unwavering resistance of Georgian society that has brought the autocratic oligarch to this point. The policy of non-recognition and non-cooperation, together with international sanctions, does not allow the regime to normalize the situation; the crisis of trust within ‘Georgian Dream’ is deepening.
The ‘Opposition Alliance’ will continue its policy of non-recognition and non-cooperation until the Russia-aligned regime is completely stripped of its support and the captured state is returned to the service of the Georgian people.
After that, our task will be to establish the rule of law and justice, restore trampled civil rights and freedoms, ensure the country’s security, and irreversibly return Georgia to the historic path of Euro-Atlantic development. On May 26, at 19:00, a march will be held from TSU’s First Building to Parliament,” the statement reads.
For reference, Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze announced that the government structure will include a new position - State Minister for Coordination of Law Enforcement Agencies, to be held by Mamuka Mdinaradze. Additionally, the Georgian Parliament will be presented with Gela Geladze as a candidate for Head of the State Security Service, while Sulkhan Tamazashvili, Chairman of the Government of Adjara, has been appointed Minister of Internal Affairs.
