He never loved Misha and did not hide it. On the contrary - he publicly confirmed it and was even proud of it. But at the same time, he wanted the chairmanship of his party, his voters and his votes - the entire political campaign was often not against Ivanishvili, but rather to distance himself from the UNM and take away votes, - this is how one of the leaders of the National Movement, Levan Bezhashvili, responds to a letter sent from prison by one of the leaders of the Coalition of Change, Nika Melia, in which he speaks about Mikheil Saakashvili.
As Levan Bezhashvili notes, there is an oligarchic regime in the country, but the main political energy of part of the opposition is still spent on fighting among themselves.
“What new thing did he say? - Nothing. He never liked Misha and did not hide it. On the contrary - he publicly confirmed it and was even proud of it. But at the same time, he wanted the chairmanship of his party, his voters and his votes.
Why was there no real unity in 2024? - The answer is here.
The main “red line” was always Misha and the UNM. The entire political campaign was often not against Ivanishvili, but rather about distancing himself from the UNM and taking away votes.
There were many questions from the very beginning even about the multi-million-dollar financing that was so actively discussed (they say 40 million, the exact amount is still unknown) - in whose interest was it to further disintegrate the opposition and who was interested in weakening the main opposition force?
But what happened during the elections?
"The Ahali went door to door to the voters of the National Movement and told them: "We are still one"; "We are also Misha's party."
Now, when the news of leaving the alliance and getting closer to Lelo is increasingly heard, many things are becoming clearer.
And I really wonder - have we ever seen so many posts, so much criticism and so much "principleness" about Ivanishvili?
This is precisely the problem - there is an oligarchic regime in the country, but the main political energy of part of the opposition is still spent on fighting among themselves.
In short, there is nothing new. The focus needs to be adjusted - the main fight is with the oligarchy, and not with the constant confrontation within the opposition," - Levan Bezhashvili writes on Facebook.
For information, one of the leaders of the Coalition for Change, defendant Nika Melia, released a letter from prison, in which he spoke about the third president, Mikheil Saakashvili.
As Melia writes, wherever Saakashvili is, there is no interest in the country, there is only private selfish interest, because "he is in unhealthy love with himself, he is pregnant only with taking care of his ego."
In addition, as Melia notes in the letter, Saakashvili was forced to come to Georgia before the local elections by "his own irresistible jealousy."
According to Nika Melia, Mikheil Saakashvili's endless mudslinging and talk of alleged betrayal against him "only serves to cover up the specific history of entering into a deal with the government in exchange for his release abroad, which, for many reasons, is very troubling to him today."
"For Saakashvili, lies and impudence are prosaic, without them he no longer exists, but at least he might gather the strength to tell the truth and speak out about the grave mistakes he made and the human weaknesses he revealed throughout 2022."
