For a whole year, people who were constitutionally high-ranking officials are accused of corruption, while the latter are also making catastrophic accusations - contract killings, etc. The picture is that they are largely right about each other, - said Giga Bokeria, one of the leaders of the Federalists party.

As Bokeria stated on Palitranews, the legal system obeys one man and officials are arrested if they are hated by that one man, which, according to him, is a catastrophic picture.

“This is not a fight against corruption. We are not dealing with the fact that some people misused their power and the system exposed them. No, the system allowed them to do this until Ivanishvili started hating them. The accusations that we hear from them [from the Georgian Dream], if even a hundredth of a percent true, paint a hellish picture. That is, Ivanishvili and his entourage accuse each other of enriching themselves by abusing their positions, not one or two officials, but dozens of officials: the head of the State Security Service, Prime Ministers, the Minister of Defense, the former Prosecutor General, etc. Throughout this year, people who were constitutionally the highest officials have been accused, while they are also making catastrophic accusations themselves – contract murders, etc. The picture is that they are largely right about each other. That is, neither of them is completely lying, something may be a lie, but in essence it is true. People have become rich as a result of their positions at the expense of our future and the country. The legal system obeys one man and people will be arrested when he hates them. This is a catastrophic picture,” Bokeria said.

As Bokeria noted, he does not consider former Prime Minister Irakli Gharibashvili a political prisoner, because Gharibashvili was not an opponent of this government.

However, Bokeria adds that “whatever type of persecution there is against him, of course, this is a political order by Ivanishvili.”

"If a person is in prison for a politically motivated act and his persecution was a political task, then he is a political prisoner. Gharibashvili was not an opponent of this government, so in my understanding he is not a political prisoner. However, whatever type of persecution there is against him, of course, this is a political order by Ivanishvili, because the legal system is subject to him. This is a situation that has crossed all limits, where one person can, in any situation, get the result that he personally wants.

There is no place for any fight against corruption. It’s about Ivanishvili’s personal mood, that is, when Ivanishvili turns against someone, they start digging into things that were previously considered the norm—this is a catastrophic picture," Bokeria said.
