For a state like Georgia, the UN podium is crucial; it is a place to define one's identity—who you are, what you want, and what your strategic objectives are. The speech made it abundantly clear that Georgia has been detached from the European agenda and that EU membership is no longer our national objective. This is a very clear and significant message.
Occupation is not a static phenomenon; we are witnessing not just occupation, but an accelerating process of annexation. Pressure is mounting on the government to recognize the so-called independent states. Yet, in this context, not a single word was said about what the international community should do or what our expectations are. It remains unclear what the appeal was, what we are anticipating, or what we are actually asking for. Therefore, in no way will I include the mention of the occupation in the 'positive agenda' category because it was a topic raised merely for the sake of propriety—so that someone could say, 'Well, he did mention it.' It was a machine of sheer falsehood set in motion by a representative of the regime from the UN podium. The overarching message of that speech was that there is a territory controlled by the Ivanishvili regime, and if anyone has any interest regarding it, they must speak to Ivanishvili.
