Shalva Papuashvili on the question regarding Levan Murusidze and Vasil Roinishvili: Our justice system passes every test - Brussels and the ambassadors who attack the court are wrong every single time! - Yes, indeed, this is a good justice system!

"Our justice system passes every test — Brussels and the ambassadors who attack the court are wrong every single time! — Yes, indeed, this is a good justice system with this composition!" stated Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili in response to a journalist's question concerning active judges Levan Murusidze and Vasil Roinishvili.

In this context, the journalist reminded the Speaker of Parliament of the high-profile criminal cases of Sandro Girgvliani and Roin Shavadze, as well as the related decisions of the Strasbourg Court. In response, Papuashvili explained that "in 2012, 'Georgian Dream' separated the system created by Mikheil Saakashvili from individual responsibility."

According to Papuashvili's assessment, the justice system today has evolved into a system where there are no substantiated claims against the court.

"Our choice is a justice system that passes all tests — it was this very composition of the justice system that was slandered by Brussels in the 'Rustavi 2' case, Gvaramia's case, Melia's case, Saakashvili's case — which case should I list first?! Our choice is the legal framework created by us, where our justice system passes every test — Brussels and the ambassadors who attack the court are wrong every single time. The conclusion from this: the justice system is functioning properly and its decisions are fair — neither Brussels nor its hired groups have ever been able to prove their claims on a single politicized issue that was used for years as a pretext to attack the court. If the court works this way, it means that yes, indeed, this is a good justice system with this composition!

The justice system today has shaped into such a system that there are no claims against the court that have been proven.

In 2012, 'Georgian Dream' did the following: it separated the system — the dictatorship that Mikheil Saakashvili had created — from individual responsibility. Where individual responsibility was due, it was exacted — this is the criminal prosecution of Mikheil Saakashvili and Zurab Adeishvili. Look at what price it cost the country when Brussels attacks Georgia for holding dictators accountable. Where individual responsibility was not due, there was no individual guilt," Shalva Papuashvili stated in response to the question.

According to Papuashvili, "energy, money, and resources were spent by ambassadors and presidents of other countries to blacken Georgian justice, but 'every single time they broke their noses against this justice.'" Papuashvili also addressed the journalist, urging them to direct critical questions to Ambassador Herczyński and foreigners.

"Ambassador Herczyński personally blackened Georgian justice. He went to the Minister of Justice with a demarche, telling him that Saakashvili was receiving inappropriate treatment. A few weeks later, the Strasbourg Court stated that everything was in order. Did Herczyński apologize for this?! — Go and demand an apology from Herczyński! — If you have the courage with Georgians while you melt in front of foreigners! Show me a single critical question directed at a foreigner! — Show it to me, and then I will believe that you are an independent journalist! You are timid and deferential toward foreigners! Shed your deference toward foreigners and become critical!" Papuashvili stated in response to the question regarding specific judges.
