Ombudsman: LGBT community does not have the freedom of assembly in this country

It’s the fact is that LGBT community does not have the freedom of peaceful assembly in this country, Public Defender Nino Lomjaria said while commenting on the decision of the Internal Affairs Ministry regarding the LGBTQ Pride Week in Tbilisi.

“Their right of the freedom of assembly remains problem. However, there is some logic to take into consideration some issues due to the security risks. But eventually, these people have to decide whether or not to hold such marches,” Nino Lomjaria said.
